Deliverables
11” x 17” Two Color Poster

Objective
To creatively advertise City College of San Francisco’s 18th Annual Fashion Show. Along with that, the poster had to tie in the meaning of manifesto: your mission, commitment, and/or intent. Messaging associated with the poster were to be powerful, bold, beautiful, empowering, fresh, and trendy.

Concept
Manifesto: It’s Bigger Than You. As a fashion designer, you have the potential for your mission and intent to reach thousands of people. Therefore, your manifesto is something that is so much bigger than you.

Approach
Research was essential for this project and the initial time was spent looking into trendy colors, runway poses, typefaces, etc. to get the mood of the piece. Around the same time, sketches were created that emulated the connotative messaging the client suggested. Once a rough was selected, the illustration was created in Illustrator, and the type set in InDesign. The display type is Onyx, which clearly echoes fashion - this was important as the word manifesto is not normally associated with fashion. The body copy is Gotham in all caps, as this is in line with Chanel’s branding, and has a high fashion feeling.
