Background & Approach
Bandits Bandanas is a fair trade certified company that gives 10% of profits back to a charity chosen by the artist of the bandana being sold. They posted a competition callout to create a bandana that embodies your most iconic camp memories. Even though this bandana was not the final winner, this design was still a pleasure to reminisce on as it was being made. My fondest memories as a child are set under the California redwoods. Whether it was my family's annual camping trip throughout Northern California, or a week of Girl Scout camp a couple summers in Yosemite Valley, they all shaped who I am today and my love for nature. This bandana design is a collection of these memories; some zoomed in: roasting marshmallows looking out at the lake, while others are zoomed out: realizing what beauty light pollution can hide and learning about our galaxy.
